About L.I.V.E.

L.I.V.E. (Leather is Violent Exploitation of Animals) is a group of activists originating in New York City that aims to raise awareness of the creation of leather products and their harm towards animals. "Leave Leather to L.I.V.E." is a campaign that encourages the purchase of synthetic leather products in opposition to animal based products.
In recognition of the PETA campaigns that have encouraged designers and consumers to use faux fur and leave animals with their fur and lives, L.I.V.E. aims to leave animals who are victims of the leather consumerism living in their environments.

The Sickness of Snake Skin Leather:
Necessity? Absolutely NOT.

Authentic snake skin stilettos, snake skin bag, and snake skin keychain. Let's evaluate the creation of these snake skin leather products. The captured snake is taken from it's wildlife environment, suspended by a wire or a rope, then is skinned alive! The snake takes minutes, sometimes even hours to die because of the ability of reptiles to withstand low blood pressure and oxygen levels. According to Clifford Warwick's book on the mass murdering of reptiles, Reptile: Misunderstood, Mistreated and Mass-Marketed," if reptiles are to be killed by physical means... then it has to involve complete and rapid destruction of the brain, otherwise they are very likely to suffer enormously and for a long time before dying." Basically, to have a luxury item like the Jimmy Choo snakeskin leather tote pictured in the middle above, one must not only pay $3,095.00 for it, but also skin an animal alive!

Shot in 2002, the video reveals that the biggest predator of the Kangaroos are internationally known companies, like ADIDAS. David Beckham wore and promoted the animal cruelty by wearing the kangaroo-skin leather shoes that ADIDAS pays to kill the animals for. As we have seen in the YouTube video, it is "the biggest wildlife massacre the world has ever seen," for meat and skin to make products that "nobody needs, so called luxury products."
It took four years and a THIRTY MILLION Kangeroo population deficit for VIVA, a Kangeroo saving campaign to convince David Beckham to switch to synthetic leather shoes! For more information regarding the Beckham/VIVA campaign please visit: http://www.savethekangaroo.com/adidas/beckham.shtml
